Sabriel, daughter of the necromancer Abhorsen, must journey into the mysterious and magical Old Kingdom to rescue her father from the Land of the Dead.
These books resonated strongly with me as a teenager, and I wore out the bindings from rereading them so many times.
This book features outstanding worldbuilding and introduces readers to the intriguing concept of abhorsens, who are the opposite of necromancers, binding the dead and sending them back into death.
The Sabriel series is a captivating blend of fantasy and adventure, featuring a strong female lead who faces off against living dead creatures, making it a thrilling read.
While it leans towards a more serious tone, it still fits beautifully within the theme, offering depth and intrigue.
The Abhorsen trilogy features strong female leads who are compelling and independent, set in one of the most fascinating worlds you'll encounter.
I enjoyed Tim Curry's narration and plan to finish listening to the series soon.
